Meet Val Evanoff, Registered Dietitian and Functional Nutrition specialist

Hi, I’m Val Evanoff, RD, CLT, IFNCP

I’m a Registered Dietitian (RD) certified in Functional Nutrition (IFNCP) and a Certified Lifestyle and Performance Therapist (CLT).  My goal is to educate you and support you during your journey back to better health.

In my 20’s I started training for my first half marathon but I had no idea how to fuel for race day or eat during training. As an avid learner, I decided to read and research everything I could.  My times improved and other runners started asking ME for advice!  Could there be a career in this? Yes!

My Education

Going back to school was hard – no paycheck? organic chemistry tests? – but I loved every minute.  I focused on functional and integrative nutrition, food sensitivities, gastrointestinal health and autoimmune disease.

I earned my Bachelors degree from Life University in Georgia, where I also completed my dietetic internship.  I became certified in Integrative and Functional Nutrition through the IFN Academy.  In addition, I am a certified LEAP (Lifestyle Eating and Performance) therapist, specializing in food intolerances and gut health.

My Certifications

I’m a certified Integrative and Functional Nutrition Provider (IFNCP) from the Integrative and Functional Nutrition Academy.  My focus is finding and treating the root cause of your health issue.

As a Certified LEAP Therapist (CLT),  I use the mediator release test (MRT) to create a custom LEAP anti-inflammatory diet.  This diet provides lasting relief from digestive problems related to food sensitivities like Irritable Bowel Syndrome and chronic migraines.

My Health Story

I’m passionate about learning and helping others.  I’m an avid reader and I enjoy sharing what I learn, especially when it can help them lead a better life.

I grew up seeing the impact of diseases like autoimmune and diabetes on my extended family.  Going back to school in my late 30’s to start a second career was stressful and hard work, so I experienced the impact of stress and lack of sleep on my health firsthand.  I also know how it feels to begin having unexplained health issues.  One sunny morning before work, I started experiencing vertigo and migraines.  Later, I got eczema and joint pains.  My doctors didn’t know why this was happening, but they had plenty of medications to mask the symptoms.  As I learned more about how diet and lifestyle could change lives, I knew becoming an RD was the right path.

I feel blessed to have a fulfilling career, a loving and supportive husband and three fur babies – Harley, Scout and Dixie.  I believe this allows me to focus on helping others.  I found a place where my passions for mentoring, living more fully through healthy changes, and constant learning are fulfilled.

My Philosophy

I believe the traditional medical model is too focused on prescribing drugs that only mask symptoms.  I believe in listening and learning from my clients to discover the root cause of their health concerns.

Although supplements and medications have their place, I use a food-first approach to healing.  In addition, I emphasize lifestyle changes to support better mood, sleep and wellbeing.  So often, improved sleep gives my clients the energy to consider making other changes to diet and lifestyle that are essential to healing.

Finally, I am a partner who will praise your health wins and support you through challenges.  I believe in doing it together!

Let me be your guide to better health.  You CAN feel better.  It takes commitment but you don’t have to do it alone.  I’ll be with you the whole way.

Let’s get started today!
